The participants consisted of the board of directors, supervisory committee and managers of PKWI (sunflower), MIFA (potato seed) and Wadelai (sesame).

In this training, they have discussed key governance challenges, and they have developed action plans to address the governance structure, the roles and to strengthen the board and supervisory committee. This training and the action plans that will be implemented will help the cooperatives’ board and management to make better decisions and it will increase the members’ commitment, which benefits the members.

The training was conducted by agripool expert Adrie Vermeulen (Agrico), who gave presentations about the governance model and structure, governance resource management and member commitment, and Agriterra business advisors Bert Steenbergen, Richard van der Maden, James Muhangi and Kenneth Otima, who led many group discussions.

The participants were very enthusiastic about this training, and they are looking forward to bring their new knowledge in practice.
